BIFF 2026 kicks off in a week! Even though Tôn Thất An is not coming with any film this year, he has been invited by BIFF/AFCM to give a talk about his work as a film composer in Asia. It will be a discussion about the journey of a Parisian-born Vietnamese bloke with his Zoom recorder and a laptop, his head full of music— a DIY composer who has been lucky and very fortunate to meet cool and talented musicians along the way who would become his muses and musical collaborators over the years.
From Vietnam to Japan, Myanmar to Indonesia, China to Malaysia and Taiwan, with Busan and its festival at the heart of it, and films such as The third Wife, Song Lang, Glorious Ashes, the Age of Goodbyes, True Mothers, Eel, Moonlight Shadow, Goodbye Mother, Sammi who can detach his Body Parts, Ky Nam Inn and Ròm!
